A great volunteer opportunity for dads!! All day stations at WIS & WPS. You can assist at a station and PTO provides lunch! Can do all day or partial day. Think science fair!! This event is in November for WIS and in May for WPS.
During May we love to say THANK YOU to all of our Woodridge faculty and staff. You will receive a flyer detailing ways you and your student can participate in thanking the great people that work so hard to make Woodridge special. We also decorate with special posters for our teachers as well as great luncheons – all compliments of our Woodridge parents! It is a fun filled week!
This program is a highlight for the fifth graders at their graduation. If you have a fifth grader we will be contacting you soon for pictures of your graduate during their years in our school. We put together the ceremony and some special surprises to make graduation fun and possibly a little teary for our parents!
Each year PTO organizes volunteers for the three holiday parties each classroom celebrates. Each party needs a Coordinator and many Party Helpers. You will receive a letter and sign up form in September asking if you are able to volunteer to be a Coordinator or a Party Helper.
Teacher Conference dinners are scheduled in the fall. Dinners are provided by our parent volunteers to help our teachers and staff eat a delicious meal on these extra long days. You may be asked to provide paper products or food items such as salads, sides, entrees or deserts. Help during set-up and take down is also needed.
This is a fun morning, compliments of Applebee's on Hudson Dr., when Applebee's graciously opens their doors early and provides our families with a delicious breakfast in December. The "Big Guy" makes an appearance and each family will receive one photo. This is a fun chance to have breakfast with your friends and share in the holiday spirit. Applebee's donates 100% of the proceeds to the PTO! Reservations are required for this event, so keep an eye out for the reservation flyer.
Each year the PTO sponsors a Spring Dance for K-5 families at the Middle School. Along with great music and refreshments, each grade level is asked to participate in a Grade Basket to raffle that night. Our baskets grow each year and are packed with goodies and gift cards. Our Grade Reps will begin collecting donations a month before the dance. We also look for PTO Dads to assist us with extra eyes to ensure all are having fun and are safe throughout this fun evening!
